Our broker approached us with this deal for his client who owned a corner plot consisting of a restaurant on the ground floor plus two further floors. The project involved significant redevelopment to refurbish and upgrade the restaurant and provide 6 flats to the upper floors. We provided an initial sum towards the refurbishment but then increased the borrowing and extended the term of the loan to accommodate unforeseen delays and additional costs.
